Shakira is bringing millions of people together in Brazil!
The 49-year-old “She Wolf” singer-songwriter became the latest superstar to perform a massive free concert at Copacabana Beach as part of Todo Mundo no Rio 2026 on Saturday night (May 2) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Shakira draws over 2 million fans to Copacabana Beach
The event is said to have brought over 2 million people to the beach in Brazil, following similarly massive shows staged by fellow pop icons Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga last year.
The show featured drones, custom looks, and tour highlights
The performance, which began after over an hour delay with a dazzling display of drones forming various shapes in the sky, including Shakira‘s signature “She Wolf” and an outline of her face, largely incorporated her current Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
Special guests joined her on stage
She also wore custom outfits inspired by the Brazilian flag and cameos from massive Brazilian music figureheads, including Anitta, performing their new collaboration “Choka Choka,” Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, and Ivete Sangalo.
Shakira addressed the crowd in Portuguese
“I arrived here when I was 18 years old, dreaming about singing for you. And now look at this. Life is magical,” she said to the crowd in Brazil, speaking largely in Portuguese throughout the show to the audience, via CBS.
Eduardo Cavaliere, mayor of Rio De Janeiro, posted on social media that the concert was attended by 2 million people: “Everyone in Rio with @Shakira : 2 million people. The She-Wolf made history in Rio. Feel free to share—it’s the official figure from @Prefeitura_Rio,” he wrote.
