Clear the runway! It’s time to revisit Zoolander! Directed and co-written by Ben Stiller, the film focuses on Derek Zoolander, a slow-witted supermodel, who becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia. While a financial flop in the fall of 2001, with it hitting theaters only weeks after 9/11, once the movie hit DVD it became an endlessly quotable cult classic, which helped make Ben Stiller and co-stars Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell among the biggest comedy film stars of their era. In this episode of Revisited, we take a look at how the film grew from a series of skits Stiller made for MTV, how the film gave early roles to people like Alexander Skarsgard, and a lot more!
