DoorDash has gotten Component 135 air service provider certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, removing it to run a business drone delivery service and making it the eighth drone driver in the U.S. to hold the credential.
The program, DoorDash Air, was created in-house at DoorDash Labs, the team behind the Dot walkway robot, and includes an aircraft designed and mostly developed domestically.
The company mentions a space in its very own information: orders traveling 3 to five miles take roughly 25 percent longer to fulfill.
No timeline or airplane has actually been revealed, and long-range autonomous flight needs different FAA approval DoorDash does not have.
