After studying visuals design at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin, spending time in Paris and carrying out sensible job, Fritz Bühler (1909-1963) went right into opening his own studio in 1933. From early on, he combined delicate design job with a flair for effective advertising and marketing. These traits can additionally be seen in his poster and ad project for Reemtsma’s cigarette brand Stuyvesant in the 1950s and 60s. His Union Brikett (1943 and 1948) and Nivea (1948) posters, together with many other jobs, count among the standards of Swiss poster style.
