Grandma loved spinach as much as Popeye the Sailor. One of her favorite ways to prepare it was creamed spinach. Here’s a recipe to enjoy this classic dish, we have creamed spinach for the win!
Ingredients
– 10 oz or more of spinach
– 2 tbsp butter
– 1/2 medium onion, minced
– 3 garlic cloves, minced
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/2 block cream cheese (room temp)
– 2 tsp salt and pepper
– Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
1. Boil spinach until wilted, then drain, chop, and set aside.
2. In a pan, sauté the minced onion and garlic in butter until soft and fragrant.
3. Add the cream cheese to the pan and melt, then stir in the milk.
4. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Finally, stir in the spinach, and the rest is history.
