How Steer-By-Wire Works – Tesla Cybertruck’s Unique Steering!

Steer-by-wire on a cars and truck indicates there is no physical link between the guiding wheel and the front wheels of the car. This is currently a reality many thanks to the Cybertruck, the first production car in North America that utilizes this modern technology without a mechanical backup guiding column. On a typical auto, when you rotate the guiding wheel, this passes through the steering column to the guiding rack, which relocates the steering rack left or right, pulling on tie-rods, pivoting the front wheels based on your input. With steer-by-wire that mechanical link is gone. When you turn the steering wheel, a sensing unit sees just how much you transform the wheel, and a controller communicates that message to the front guiding rack, where an electrical motor relocates the steering rack based on your input, rotating the front wheels.
