Since it’s 2026, the price of some rare-earth elements, and coins like gold and silver, could go method up in Washington state.
An exemption on a rare-earth elements tax, essentially for 40 years, was lifted on Jan. 1. Some Western Washington companies assert it might compel some dealerships out of state.
This impacts purchasers and vendors of valuable metal coins and bullion. That is smelted or refined gold, rhodium, silver, and platinum, to name a few steels.
Sales will no much longer be excluded from a 10.3% tax, plus the Business and Occupation Tax.
