Roger Duvoisin (1904– 1980) was birthed in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as in 1927, relocated to New York for a work in fabric style. When the business folded up, he decided to release a book he ‘d created as well as shown for his child. Roger’s trademark design was colourful, bold, and also graphic, and he had a strong feeling of make-up and style. He integrated both humour and also drama into the lines of his art and also provided concern without being emotional. Throughout the years, he illustrated as well as created over forty books, including series that included Petunia the foolish goose and also Veronica the noticeable hippo, folktales such as the Three Sneezes as well as The Crocodile in the Tree, and also principle publications such as A for the Ark.

Roger also developed pictures for over 140 books by other writers. Among them were the preferred Happy Lion books created by his wife, Louise Fatio, and nineteen books by Alvin R. Tresselt, including White Snow, Bright Snow, which was awarded a Caldecott Medal, and also Hide as well as Seek Fog, which was called a Caldecott Honour Book. 4 of his titles were New York Times Best Illustrated Books, as well as in 1976, he got the Kerlan Award for Children’s Literature.
