After hitting an intraday high of 81,816.89, Sensex pared some gains to work out at 81,633.02, greater by 320.70 points or 0.39 percent. The NSE Nifty50 likewise closed greater by 81.15 points or 0.33 percent at 24,833.6.
In the broader markets, Nifty Midcap100, and Nifty Smallcap100 indices worked out with gains of 0.55 per cent and 0.59 percent, specifically.
On the sectoral front, disallowing FMCG and PSU Banks, all other sectoral indices settled in eco-friendly. The Nifty Metal an Realty became top sectoral gainers, up by over 1 per cent each, followed by IT, Pharma, Bank, IT and Energy.
