The Muscle Car Wars of the 1960s: Part II The Golden Age Roadrunners

A classic automobile connaisseur speak about muscle mass automobiles: THE American take on performance cars, leading to a full blast horsepower battle in the 1960s. Cubic inches, horse power and 0-60 times were the varieties of the days. To tell the complete story, the video is split in three parts.

This is sequel: the golden era. After the release of the 1964 Pontiac GTO, every American carmaker rushed to release their own muscle car, like the Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Chevelle SS and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Then a budget series appeared, like the Plymouth GTX. Finally, the craze reached its height in 1970, with the ‘aero warriors’ like the Charger Daytona and Superbird, but also GM’s COPO Camaro.
